The Evolution: Dashavatara

Recently I read a book named "Pratibimbalu" (which mean reflections), a Telugu Novel. I liked the way the author (Ch. Surya Kumari) wrote about the Dashavataras and thought to share it with you.

Many of us knew that the first vertebrate in the time line of evolution is "The Fish". And that is the first Avatar, "Matsyavatar".

The second of time line is the amphibian, "Kurmavatar", the Tortoise.

The next is a complete land animal, "Varahavatar", the Pig.

When the evolution taking place to a human, an unknown state of being both human and an animal existed and it is the next avatar, "Narasimhavatar"

"Vamanavatar", the monkey. The most important of the evolution timeline as humans and monkeys share a common ancestor.

When the man evolved, he could stand straight. He used weapons. But still his mind could not completely change from an animal to a human being. He was cruel and violent as animal. And that is "Parasuramavatar", human with Animal's instinct. He used the axe as his weapon which can be implied that it was in "the stone age".

The next avatar is "Rama", the complete human, bonded to society, rules and customs. He can be an example of perfect social being.

"Krishnavatar", portrays a person who is wise, creative, beautiful, an ideal friend who was also cunning at the same time. He was a polygamy, polygyny to be exact. (A man with more than one wife).

Within no time the man life was complete at the same time his down fall started. He left his morals, duties and responsibilities. He treated all living things equally. He treated human's life same as any other animal's. Then came the "Buddhavatar" who preached that when you cannot harm an animal, you cannot do any bad thing.

The last one, which is yet to come, "Kalki avatar". He has the head of a Buffalo. Man has been degraded completely, became selfish and as an animal again. He is eating how much ever  he can, rather than what is sufficient for him. And this is supposedly be the end of life.  The Kaliyuga

Though all the avatars have different stories and reasons for which they were born, more than all of those, this seems to be with perfect reasoning. And it's true!! That is how we are..
